The Inaugural MICS-Qualcomm Hypatia Award Ceremony will celebrate our inaugural fellow, Madison Wilson and her exciting research. Named in honor of the ancient Greek mathematician, the MICS-Qualcomm Hypatia Fellowship Program is an integrated mentoring program, funded by Qualcomm and UCSD MICS Center, shining light on the stellar achievements of our PhD students in research along their notable contributions to diversity.  

On Tuesday, October 24th, we will celebrate the MICS Hypatia fellowship in style. In this inaugural event, you will not only hear from our inaugural fellow as well as Drs Yeliz Tokgoz and Joseph Soriaga, UCSD Alumni and Qualcomm wireless and AI technical leads, but you will also get to interact with a cadre of practicing engineers and mentors in industry. The event will include a mentoring session on the following topics: Planning for transition from PhD research into industry careers, Building academia/industry partnerships, Long term mentor networks and their relevant to industry careers, and Continuing education and workforce training beyond PhD.
