Rosario Cammarota (“Ro”) is a Principal Engineer at Intel Labs. He leads Privacy Technologies Research and Standards, with a focus on cryptographic and systems security technologies.
He led the technology development of the Intel Open Source Software Intel nGraph-HE, to allow seamless development and deployment of machine learning models on hybrid homomorphic encryption/two-party computation backends. He leads the standardization effort of fully homomorphic encryption at ISO/ IEC JTC1 SC27. He authored over 70 US patents in applied cryptography and security protocols adopted in security standards and products, e.g., WiFi EasyConnect, IEEE 802.11i. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
Ro is committed to facilitating University research, scientific knowledge dissemination and technology transfer. He is one of the recipients of the Semiconductor Research Corporation Mahboob Khan Outstanding Industry Liaison Awards in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Ro obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine in 2013.
